Attention readers.
Beware of what might be considered libelous statements, especially concerning the recent acquittal in state District Court of the karate instructor.
No matter what you believe, you cannot write certain things or word them a certain way, simply because legally he now is an innocent person, not an alleged criminal.
District 1 Constituent, I have held your comments, regardless of my own feelings. Could you rework your blog? Something to the effect of “I believe that” etc.
You can state your opinions, but cannot make certain statements as fact, unless you can prove them.
Thanks to everyone. There are many things I would like to state as fact, but the law prevails.
But Jerry, stating lies, half-truths and rumors as fact is what people have been doing on this and the other local blogs for many years. You’d have to shut this blog down if you put a stop to this practice.
Jerry Deal comments: That is, of course, a problem all internet services that deal with bloggers face.
I’d. Like to know if Mr. ANDERSON was asked to take a lie director test, and if he took the stand and was asked flat out if he had done any of those things alleged while under oath in a room of people.?
Jerry, the fact that you actually had to explain this to your bloggers speaks volumes about their low levels of intelligence and maturity. This should be common sense. So often people make statements about others without bothering to check facts. And others believe everything they read on these blogs and repeat it … which is just as ridiculous.
Jerry Deal coamments: Even the major news services have fallen victim. Someone or service makes a statement as fact, another service that usually is reliable, falls for it, then even major news services, trusting that one, publish it. Of course, it is not right, but it has happened and will again.
Jerry the Jury has spoken, there shouldn’t any more discussion on this topic. Good luck to Mr. Anderson and everyone else involved.
Why am I not surprised that these two would be the first two to pipe up.
How is following TEXAS LAW and presenting it not FACTUAL? How is it not FACTUAL to judge ANY person involved in city politics by their TRACK RECORD? How is it not FACTUAL to see,know and present where the money comes from and who it benefits? How is it not FACTUAL that it is known Valleywide that we as a city has,have and still is being held back as compared to other Valley cities?
One only has to look at who is who in certain circles and who has benefitted from city monies again and again and over again. Who gets preferential treatment(certain annexes and cost cuts in city services).

I would like to remind all of you here of OJ Simpsom. He too was found innocent however the real judge and jury is the man up stairs. Pedophiles can not stop what they do it is an illness. Justice will prevail. The real losers are the children and the man and woman who were killed and their familys. What goes around comes around.
Jerry Deal comments: That said, I agree that the jury has spoken, evidently not convinced of his guilt, let’s let it go — at least for now. There are some other issues that are out there.
If libelous statements were not be allowed in blogs, then why even allow any comments or statements from those signed anonymous? The simple truths and facts are that libelous, untruthful as well as statements and comments backed by 100% proof are indeed allowed in blogs. And if this were also not true, then could someone name at least one blog which was cited negatively because of libelous or unbacked statements? The simple and correct answer would be NO. I’m sorry, but you are wrong in this case, Mr. Deal.
Just an example of what Vincent may be referring to is a man named Dr. Jerry Mchale. He has maintained several blogs within the last decade and a prime staple there have been libelous and very obvious name calling. Dr. Mchale is a teacher for Brownsville ISD and a past newspaper reporter. And since I’ve known him and have been reading his blogs, he has never been officially threatened with his job or in any civil litigation. Now, I’m just saying that if Mchale has been able to stay out of court anybody else has nothing, whatsoever, to worry about.
Jerry Deal comments: Nevertheless, I will not publish anything that I believe could be libelous.
Good morning Jerry, sorry about that. I truly believe that the jury messed up and allowed a sexual predator to walk? Granted, that was their decision and only time will tell if this Anderson learned from this lesson or believes that he can get away with it again in the future? I believe that the jury consisting of mainly men felt that they could be put in that situation and really believed that the victims conspired to get back at this Anderson? Well, these were young girls when it happened and are young women now. I just find it hard to believe that they could have conspired after all this time and actually get their allegations straight? Everyone who was in this guys class knew exactly what was going on and now have to worry that the justice system failed for the security of children and the victims. Where was Armando Villalobos in this? Why didn’t he try the case? Is it not important to him to protect our children as he stated in his campaign for DA? I guess running for Congress is much more important than protecting our children from sexual predators? Hope this works Jerry, thanks.

District one you are a normal thinking man; most people are afraid to say anything. We are still in the midst of much corruption here in Harlingen. Otherwise how did Danny Castillo win the race? Who gave him the money? Why did a company from Dallas get the airport busing instead of Go JO travels from Harlingen who came in with a smaller bid? It is easy to see good comment.

There is no corruption going on at the airport. You are delusional! Look at the cast of characters on that board. All of them are fine, upstanding citizens that wouldn’t tolerate any type of wrongdoing. Quit accusing good people of unlawful activity unless you can prove it.
YOu are incredible. The airport is being run for a few of the rich people and the board members know what is going on. The airport will bring down the upstanding citizens like the upstanding citizens of the Cameron County Court district.Limas Jim Solis and God only knows how many more. You soud like a man without an ounce of integrity. Do you write letters of apology to OJ Simson in prison. Assure him that many upstanding citizens are rooting for him.
