Was HPD Chief Adickes involved in a motor vehicle accident?

THE REAL DEAL
By JERRY DEAL
Was Harlingen’s Chief of Police Jeffrey Adickes involved in a motor vehicle accident while en route to another one?
That is what has been reported to this scribe by a few people believed to be in the know.
The report is that Adickes was going to the recent Ramirez-Salinas accident, which resulted in the arrest of Taylor Ramirez. It also is reported that the mishap involved another vehicle in addition to the police car.
Perhaps Assistant Police Chief Michael Kester can come up with facts on what allegedly is a hush hush incident. It’s alleged Kester was the only one at the scene of the possible Adickes accident.
Hmmm!

Question is? Why isn’t our mayor and city commissioners can or should find out if HPD Chief Addickes did or did not have an accident? Rumor is that only commander kester had contact with him and only him? What is there to hide? Was Addickes under the influence like he was in Austin? Rumor is that the other party was a family member of one of the jailers from department? Were there injuries? Was the jailer intimidated to tell her family member to let it go?

What my sources told me was that he was involved in an accident in the downtown area. He allegedly rear ended a female driver. Although officers on duty heard of the accident on the radio, and tried to rush over and assist, dispatch only ordered a rookie cop to assist. No report, no sobriety test, nothing.

Is he being a great police chief and improving the city, or not?
In my opinion, he’s been pretty darn solid and thing seems to be improving.

could be wrong just my opinion
