SA Reagan blasts Cards 41-7, San Benito defeats McAllen Memorial

THE REAL DEAL
By JERRY DEAL
The Harlingen Cardinals are learning (again) that there is some heavier competition outside the Rio Grande Valley.
The Cards (1-2) took a 41-7 beating Friday night in the Alamo City to San Antonio Reagan.
This after getting defeated the previous week by Laredo United by 30-13. Valley schools usually chomp on the Laredo teams, but apparently no more.
But I am told by a partial mother than the Harlingen Cardettes were spectacular in their halftime performance.
Talk about topsy turvy , the Cards, usually the strongest of the local teams, is 1-2, while Harlingen South is now 3-0 after their Thursday night 38-14 win over Edinburg North.
Here some other Friday night scores
Port Isabel 37, Hidalgo 6
St. Joseph 48, Rio Hondo 28
San Benito 35, McAllen Memorial 7
Los Fresnos 37 McAllen 14
