Harlingen Kmart, Sears store to remain open in major closings move

Harlingen’s Kmart store and its Sears store at Valle Vista Mall will remain open, as Sears Holdings announces it will close 68 Kmarts and 10 Sears stores in a cost cutting move. The closings are to take place later this spring.
The only Rio Grande Valley Kmart store to close is the one at 1402 Expressway 83 in Mission. No Valley or Texas Sears are on the cut list.
Two other Texas Kmarts, one in El Paso and the other in Sweetwwater, will be closed.

I like Kmart better than Walmart in Harlingen. Kmart has started to return to its old business format of blue light specials and layaways. At least Kmart always has the AC on and enough staff to assist you. Walmart in Harlingen always hot. Like a warehouse type of store.

One cost cutting measure for Sears/Kmart is to give customers a shorter receipt. Gon in there, buy one item, walk out with a one foot long receipt. Imagine the savings just on paper.

I’m glad Valle Vista still gets to keep Sears. The chain is still a major retailer and provides for a good anchor at the mall, and would leave a gaping hole if it closed.

Speaking of bad business. http://www.telesurtv.net/english/news/6-Shocking-Reasons-Why-TTIP-Should-Scare-Us-All-20160424-0026.html Obama wants this to work and Hillary wants to continue this. It’s madness.
