Weslaco’s Ramirez hopes to repeat as Golden Gloves national champion

Flyweight Pablo “El Finito” Ramirez of Weslaco is picking up on his training in hopes of repeating as national Golden Gloves champion.
The 108 pound boxer won the state flyweight championship in Fort Worth with a decision over Roberto Rodriguez of Dallas.
He said he had not trained in several weeks prior to the recent regional tournament in Brownsville and had problems in the state meet because of it. Henow is working hard in order to compete properly for the national title in Salt Lake City in May.
Ramirez, also the defending junior Olympic titlist, has now fought in 100 amateur bouts.
